Restoration of the tower of Can Ratés

Now just a year ago, we began the restoration work on the watchtower of the country house of Can Ratés, in Santa Susanna (Maresme). Dated from the year 1585, this tower had the function of observation and defense watchtower to respond to the periodic attacks of pirates and privateers who, from the beginning of the 16th century, suffered the villages of the Maresme coast.
The building, declared Good Cultural of National Interest (BCIN), presented a very bad state of conservation that made a conservation-restoration intervention essential, from a security point of view, but above all also because of the need for Its recovery and enhancement as a heritage element and emblematic building for the Santa Susanna villa.

In the attached link you can see the work done. This is our first video. We hope you like it!
